"When confronted with a difficult or hostile situation, I would freeze and be unable to advocate for myself, present my point of view, or respectfully challenge or disagree with the other person.
I had been struggling with these issues for my entire life (and I am a senior citizen). It left me with feelings of inadequacy and anger. I felt I could be bullied.
Working with Robert, I felt heard, understood, and safe.
Since the treatment, I have astonished myself at my ability to speak up and express myself effectively when the stakes are high. I am not vulnerable to being verbally or psychologically bullied or shut down. I actively use my (Container) and have nicknamed it Pandora's Box. I have had several situations arise where, without even thinking about it, I no longer freeze. An unexpected outcome is that I have lost my shyness or reluctance to introduce myself to strangers who are influential.
I would recommend Robert’s services. If you are unsure of the method he uses, EMDR, do the research on the treatment to your satisfaction. If you are unsure if Robert is the right fit for you, meet with him as he will discuss any concerns you may have."

"I immediately felt comfortable with Robert and felt sincere compassion from him in our interactions. He provided valuable insight and understanding of the anxiety I was experiencing and he helped me shift my perspective on specific situations where anxiety was at its highest intensity.
After working through his EMDR techniques, I left feeling incredibly relaxed and at ease. I also noticed residual benefits in my daily life through a reduction in the intensity of my anxiety.
I highly recommend the work of Robert Grigore to anybody pursuing a life of health and well-being."

BREAKING THERAPY MYTHS
#1: Good therapy needs to take years, and in many cases, decades.
This is false. You can complete your treatment in as little as a single weekend! We believe that effective psychotherapy should be clear, concise, results-oriented, and above all else, fast! We proudly can attest to the majority of our clients completing their therapy between three and four days!
#2: Your problem will become resolved if you can reach a breakthrough in therapy (also called an insight).
FALSE. Having an insight during a session is terrific, but it’s not enough to change behaviour over the long haul, because the problem isn’t intellectual! Symptoms are due to unresolved negative experiences that emotionally wounded you long ago, for which the brain did not properly process because it was preoccupied with keeping you alive (fight/flight/freeze/faint/shut-down). In order for your symptoms to become alleviated, we must completely process the appropriate past memories and eliminate the negative belief structure that was formed.
#3: Problems will eventually go away on their own.
Again, false. Many of us were taught to just sweep our problems under the rug and they’ll go away in time. Unfortunately, since our symptoms are due to negative belief structures formed within our neurological frameworks, they do not go away if we simply “try harder,” or “toughen up,” or “think positively,” etc. Most of the time, the problems will grow and fester until they explode in unimaginably destructive ways.
#4: You just need to talk about it.
Most likely false. Talking is great, and we’re social beings, so talking about events is natural, however, talking about your past and your current situation won’t help you, and can even make things worse! You see, when you bring up painful experiences from the past - especially if they’re triggered in the present - and only talk about them, you are only stimulating the left hemisphere of your brain, but the healing needs to occur on both sides of the brain. That’s why EMDR therapy is so effective. It’s NOT talk therapy, and actually, very little talking occurs - most of the time, you will be processing on both sides of the brain. In my opinion, you can talk with a good friend or family member, you shouldn’t have to pay someone to just to talk with them.
#5: You need to share all the details to move past it.
Nope! Ironically, in the EMDR world, we sometimes refer to EMDR as “secret therapy.” This is because, I only need to know a little about what we’re working on, I don’t need all the details. I like to use the analogy of a book: Imagine that each of the memories (called targets) in your treatment sequence are the chapters in your story. All I need to know is the chapter title, and whether you’re feeling better, worse, or the same; positive, negative, or neutral. That’s it. This is quite liberating for people with extensive traumatic backgrounds or when they’re carrying intense shame.
#6: You must carry your past with you forever.
Not really. When people say this, they usually mean that on some level your past will always haunt you. In fact, I think just the opposite. I think that if events from your past continue to cause you to feel anxious then you are still a prisoner to your past. That’s not what effective therapy should be about. You should be in and out, and move on with your life, leaving the pain in the past...or more aptly, have the pain be removed from the past. It’s true that we cannot go back in time and erase your past (even though it can feel like it at times), but we can eliminate the pain from the past. You’ll still remember the past, and it might even still cause an emotional reaction, but you will not be distressed by the reaction (for example, I still feel sad for my 11 year-old self who was bullied all the time and hated himself; but I am not in any way overwhelmed or distressed by my past). The pain from your past can absolutely evaporate; and in fact, I believe that distressing experiences from our past can actually lay the foundation for our future; but we first need to fill the "cracks in the foundation" before it's safe to continuing building that "beautiful mansion of your future."
"My major concern was dealing with rape PTSD and all the myriad negative things I had dealt with that was related to that. For four chaotic and dark years, it changed every single aspect of my life. Nothing went untouched by this. My whole world turned upside down. Everything blew up in my face. My reputation, sense of identity and understanding of the world shattered. My personality changed dramatically. My interests changed dramatically. It was like I became another person and I had no control over it. Everything was impacted by rape. From the way I wore my makeup, to the people I associated with, to how I viewed myself, my relationships in life, work, everything changed.
From the very beginning Robert was so attentive to every detail and very organized. He responded to emails very quickly, was sensitive to any need I brought up, and handled everything professionally with care, and without judgement. I was amazed at how much he paid attention to the little things. I was so ready to tackle this trauma and get some sense of worth and meaning back into my life. Being stuck in such a delicate state, and being a highly sensitive person, I needed the right therapist and Robert proved himself to be it from the very beginning.
After treatment, "nothing changed" on the outside. But inside, everything changed. Something like rape will forever change you. Coming to terms with that, finding a new sense of identity that feels right, as well as some sense of purpose again, is a very difficult thing to navigate. Through the EMDR process I was able to "come back down" to myself and find stability in my mind and heart, and come to peace with my past. I was able to find the good in the bad about the situations I faced, but moreso in myself. For the first time in my life I experienced the feeling of being worthy enough to be cared for, loved, heard, protected and to have time spent on me. A beautiful domino effect happened. I can say that now I live with greater confidence about my boundaries, my worth, my individuality, and my right to navigate my life for my needs and interests. It's a remarkably huge step in my life!
Without doubt I would recommend Robert! I already strongly suggested to a few friends that they should go! Learn about EMDR and if it seems remotely worth spending your time on, DO IT. Sign up with Robert and get started on making the changes you want in your life! Whatever is holding you back from going through this healing process, sacrifice it. If you are not whole and healed and healthy then nothing else in your life will be either. It all starts with you!"

"I was worrying about things, not feeling happy, feeling overwhelmed. I was also feeling distracted and not able to focus and was lacking motivation. I have been feeling it most strongly the last 3-4 years.
I was feling overwhelmed, worried and depressed at times. I found it difficult to get my head ‘clear’ about things and would get overwhelmed about making decisions. I was struggling to get motivated to get things done.
Robert was very professional at all times; also was very clear in his explanations of the process and what to expect; gave lots of time and space for individual pacing when dealing/processing something. He was a patient and understanding guide, as I worked through these issues.
I would recommend Robert to anyone."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Does EMDR hurt?
No. Not in the traditional sense. Since this is a process of activating distressing memories in order to finally process them ONCE and FOR ALL, you will have to be comfortable with experiencing some distress. However, it's very important to note: This is the very last time you will need to think about these difficult memories. After this weekend, you're free!
2. What if it doesn't work for me?
Don't worry, it will. EMDR works by changing the neural networks in your brain, called neural-plasticity. Regardless of whether you believe it will work or not, it will - it's as much a physical process as it is a psychological one.
3. How is COVID-19 going to affect treatment?
Since it is not possible to travel in our current situation, all treatment for those who qualify will be conducted entirely online.
4. How is the treatment day broken up? This is totally different than what I'm used to!
You will start bright and early, each day at 9:00 am, and finish around 2:30 pm (give or take a few minutes depending on how your processing goes). You will be taking breaks approximately every 1.5 - 2 hours (for 5-10 minutes) to allow for restroom breaks, to stretch your legs, drink water, etc. You will have a one hour lunchtime break as well, and space for snacks. Also, you are in complete control - if you need a break, just let Robert know, and you will pause there.
5. What if I want my spouse to be a part of processing?
This is a very common request and one that is absolutely doable. Usually one's problems do not exist in a vacuum, so if this sounds like you, please bring this up during your Congruence Consultation and Robert will discuss your options.
6. Should I be bringing my family to stay with me for the weekend?
Certainly we can't say "no," but we would like for you to weigh the amount of stress brought on by having your family responsibilities versus the stress relieved by being free of such responsibilities for the weekend. We recommend that if families are to join you during this time, that very strict boundaries are established which allows for you to rest enough for the next day. If this weekend is part of a trip, you could always make plans for the family to join you after you are done the weekend, and then enjoy their company - stress free! (Please Note: If your family is currently undergoing stress, and negative patterns are being repeated from the past generations, then significant repairs may be necessary for your family relationships. You may be interested in the One & Done - Legacy Package.)
7. What should I expect to experience during my processing?
Everyone has different experiences when they are processing. But you can expect to experience some combination of the following: physical sensations, emotional expressions, sights, sounds, smells, visual pictures or mental scenes from the past, present, and future, insights about yourself and your life experiences, reduction in felt-disturbances of traumatic memories, and more. The important thing to remember is that this is a natural process that everyone can go through, and also, you've already experienced the worst of it - and survived. As you begin desensitizing and reprocessing your past memories, you will also be improving your tolerance of stress, and you will feel as if you are getting stronger...and you will be.
8. Do I need to bring anything?
Not really. Robert will have everything you need to be comfortable for the weekend. Although, some clients do prefer to bring some of their own items for comfort.
9. I'm only interested in lasting results. Do the treatment results last?
Most of our clients feel the same way. Many have undergone several different types of treatment prior to finding Robert, and they are frustrated with having to continually revisit painful feelings. Rest assured, the results of working with Robert last forever. Once the brain processes a belief system, the belief system evaporates. This means you will not have to continually return to the same memories for the same belief. However, it is possible that the same memory is an "intersection" for more than one belief system; if that's the case then you may revisit that memory again, but for a different belief system.
10. What if I can't remember everything from my past, or can't quite articulate it?
Don't worry, this is common, and could be for two reasons. The first, is that the brain will suppress the memories of certain events because they were too painful to recall. The other possibility is that during the original experience you were dissociated which means the memories could appear later when the distress has been removed, or they were never stored in the first place. Regardless of which is true for you, it is most important to remember this: When your brain determines that it is safe to do so, your brain will recall what it needs to in order to heal itself. By the time you've gotten to me, my bet is that you are ready.

“I have seen Robert due to an addiction that was rooted in childhood trauma. The memory of the trauma came up in a session with another counsellor about one year prior to the treatment with Robert. That means, my trauma was hidden for more than 20 years deep down before it surfaced. Unfortunately, I was not able to heal through talking therapy for more than a year. A different counsellor mentioned to me that EMDR might be helpful and this is how I found Robert.
EMDR was able to solve something within a few sessions that talking therapy could not for more than a year.
Before the EMDR treatment, I felt like my life was surrounded by a bubble filled with painful memories and emotions. It was almost impossible to let myself feel the pain of physical abuse and neglect that occurred to me in my childhood. EMDR helped me to process the painful memories and stabilize my emotional response. I would say the painful memories have lost their intensity, which was simply liberating and lead to a new life.
Robert was very professional and helpful throughout the entire treatment. At times, when the memories were so painful (I even contemplated walking out of the session), Robert was able to guide me through the session with kindness and understanding. For that reason, I can only recommend Robert as a counsellor and EMDR as a therapy approach."
